A Small School Doing Big Things for Kids and Community

Donations to AcademyACL are tax-deductible.

Academy for Advanced and Creative Learning serves the Pikes Peak Region as the only school with a kindergarten through eighth grade focus on the needs of gifted students. We are funded through state per-pupil-revenue as a free public charter school authorized by Colorado Springs School District 11, with limited access to additional grant funds that may apply.

The following projects are in the works and we welcome community support:

  • Any project most needed- Academy Director's discretion
  • A new, "natural" playground to replace the current dirt lot for students. We welcome monetary funds as well as donations of dirt, rocks, and volunteers. We begin the work in summer 2017.
  • STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) projects, including robotics
  • Geek Think Films production team, producing student-directed short films
  • K Tuition support: We welcome and are considering ways to support families who struggle to afford full-day kindergarten tuition ($290/month) through connecting them with anonymous donors
  • Supporting teachers and staff who wish to take additional coursework towards advanced degrees or licensure endorsements with anonymous donor support
  • Communicating with local families across the region with testing and assessment information concerning gifted educational needs, providing training to other schools, travel to conferences, creating informational brochures about gifted educational needs, et cetera.
